FAQ

What is Befriending Companionship care?

Many people we support simply want company and conversation, whether they live alone and cannot see their family and friends as often as they would like, or if they are recently bereaved and are finding it hard to adjust. Loneliness can have serious effects on a person’s health and Your Trusted Friend aims to prevent loneliness through companionship care.

Who is Your Trusted Friend for?

Your Trusted Friend is for anyone experiencing loneliness and needing some support and an extra pair of hands. Often after the loss of a loved one, family moved away, through changes in job or other unforeseen circumstances, people have contacted us also when they travel aboard and need someone to pop in on Mum and Dad.

Is it safe?

Your safety and peace of mind is paramount to us. We take every measure to ensure our Trusted Friends have proven reliability and integrity, including getting a range of references and DBS checks. At our interview process we are diligent in gleaning all the relevant information to make informed sound choices with both client and Friend in mind.

What if it doesn’t work out?

If after a visit from a Trusted Friend, you feel like the service is not for you, you can simply contact us to let us know and your service will stop.

We match you with a Trusted Friend that is local to you.

What happens if I have an accident when out with a Friend?

Just like a member of your family would, your Trusted Friend would assess what’s happened and make the appropriate steps including calling 999 for assistance if needed.

Your Friend would be there to help keep you calm and ensure you are safe and staying with you at all times. All accidents however seemingly minor are recorded.
